What? Surf Girl magazine's book on surfing - a perfect introduction for any wannabe wahine.
For who? Start up surfers will find everything they need to know in this bible for girl surfers, from how to pop up to the environmental impacts of surfing.
Contents? Even total beginners will be totally clued up after reading this book, which even includes a glossary of surf speak for the uninitiated. There's chapters on surfing basics, how to choose a board, health and beauty, more advanced moves and a mini travel guide with spots to explore in the UK and abroad.
Looks? This book is packed with inspirational images and wave upon wave being ripped up by female surfers - you'll want to head to the beach before you're even half way through...
Downside? There is quite a few adverts making up the pages, but the ratio of content to adverts is still good. The book was written in 2004, but most of the information is still up to date.
Buy it for £9.95 at the Orca Surf shop.
