Carolyn Andrews is the ultimate action girl; she's a health and fitness expert, qualified life guard and surfing fanatic, so we thought she was the perfect woman to give us a few tips on staying surf fit.

What's the best way for surf girls to stay fit when they can't get to the beach?
Swimming, interval running, circuit training, strength and conditioning, paddle boarding.......endless ways! Check out the surf-fit site for oodles of info.

A lot of girls struggle with paddling, what do you recommend doing to build up your paddle power? Get out in the water. More! More! More! Though, upper body strength and conditioning and swimming will most certainly help too...

Why do you surf?  I absolutely love it! It's that simple!  Total adrenaline blended with perfect clarity. Loads of fun and a great workout too.

What's your favourite break?
Not sure I have one favourite, but I love my local spot, Godrevy for a fun, mellow and social wave. But also Penhale and Gwenva, to name a few!

And finally, are you a longboard or shortboard girl? Oh very much a shortboard girl!

Thanks Carolyn!
