The video feed wasn't working yesterday for the womens' event, but they've got it on the go this morning for the mens' comp. Funny that! Despite the lack of live footage, you can watch video highlights and interviews from yesterdays surfing here.

As for today, there's some nicer waves - two to three foot with offshore winds. The men are currently in the water, but here's an update on the womens' heats from yesterday...

The surfers through to round three include Kyla Langen, Nikita Rob, Jacqueline Silva, Jessi Miley Dyer, Rebecca Woods, Rosanne Hodge, Pauline Ado and Megan Abudo. Suprise departures in round two
included Melanie Redman Carr, who was defeated by Jacqueline Silva and Laurina McGrath, Aussie Samantha Cornish who came thid to Julia Christian and Pauline Ado.

Also no longer in the competition is the second place surfer in the US Open of Surfing, Karina Petroni, despite clocking up some of the highest wave scores in the even so far, Hawaiian Alana Blanchard, the face of Ripcurl, and French grom Lee Ann Curren. Fellow French woman Caroline Sarran also lost out in a closely contested heat, with a score of 10.27 placing her in third place behind Lindsey Baldwin, who scored 10.34, and Kyla Langen, with 10.67.

11.54am I've updated above as well, but in case you missed it, yesterdays highlight video is now online. Watch here.

Keep reading throughout the day for more updates, and check out yesterdays blog here.
