Hawaiian Alana Blanchard has won the Pro Junior event at Santander, Spain, beating Pauline Ado, Laetitia Sudre and Lea Mengual in the final to claim the event title and a wild card into the World Tour event, due to start tomorrow. Of her win, Alana said, 'I'm really excited. It was a difficult final, but I'm so happy about the result, I haven't slept at all since I got here because of jet-lag, so I'm just so happy that the event turned out this well. It's going to be a good experience for me to surf a World Tour event, so I'm really looking forward to it.'
Although she lost out to Alana Blanchard in the final, Pauline Ado's second place was enough for her to take first place overall in the ASP Europe Pro Junior tour, and she was awarded the title. Last year's winner Lee Anne Curren came second, with Alizée Arnaud in third.
