Carbon neutral, cheap, challenging and super fun, we already know that Skating is a green way to get around - but our sister blog Hippy Shopper has found an even more eco friendly way to sidewalk surf [Via Treehugger]; they discovered Brazillain innovation group Let's Evo who've made a sustainable skateboard - launched at last month's ISPO tradeshow in Munich. Nominated for the VOLVO SportsDesign Ecodesign Award 2008 - which was won by Salomon's Sick Stick

The layers are made from Papunha Veneer - a waste by-product from the sustainable palm-heart industry. The second layer is formed from a mix of 70% natural fibers (jute, malva and curaua) and 30% post-production recycled polypropylene. Even the glues are green; made with a vegetable-based adhesive taken from species like Castor Oil plants, soy and corn. We love the name too - 'Folha Seca' means Dry Leaf in English..
