This is the most adorable story I've read for ages: a dolphin became a hero for the day when a pair of pygmy sperm whales became beached in New Zealand. Local human rescue teams had given up trying to rescue the two, when the dolphin turned up, communicated with the whales somehow, then guided the pair back out to sea and safety.
