The partnership of live music and snowboarding is by far no original concept, but, whereas most festies in the mountains end up being over priced, over sold and over rated, the spanking new Tignes Fest guarantees it won't fall into this usual corporate trap - by being free!
Set in the snow sure Glacier resort of Tignes, France, the event takes place on April 17 to 20, with the line up curated by new ravers fave Kissy Sell Out (Radio One), The Loose Cannons (Kiss FM) and Eddy Temple Morris (XFM), who will be broadcasting live from the Alps on April 18.
With bands and DJs playing electro to funk, punk and rock, the focus is on promoting new talent, by giving them a new platform to showcase their goods, with the support of the UK's top 3 radio stations. Plus, you're pretty much guaranteed awesome spring conditions, with the snow still falling heavily in the alps, with Tignes being one of the highest resorts, plus April's warmer temperatures and bluebird skies.
Late season also means bargain prices; Easyjet, Snowjet, BMI and British Airways all fly into Lyon, Geneva, Grenoble and Chambery airports, from where you can arrange transfers to resort - Tignes.co.uk and Cool Bus are giving 10% off to festival goers.
Accommodation will also be cheap - check out Tignes.co.uk and lastminute.com for the latest deals.
