Simple ideas can achieve big results - as Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) have discovered with their ongoing anti-marine litter campaigns, which have just won them a gong for Best Enviornmental Campaign, courtesy of the Coast Awards 2007, presented by Coast Magazine.

The accolade was given after SAS's success with the No Butts On The Beach and Return To Offender campaigns - which encouraged supporters to post any rubbish found on beaches back to manufacturers. It makes up a hat trick of prestigious awards for the organisation's work in 2007 - they also won the British Enviornment and the Media (BEMA) award for best website, and the Surfer's Path Global Green Wave Award.

Congrats! To keep up with SAS's work to keep our beaches clean for everyone and to get involved log on to sas.org.uk.
