One of the most definitive guides available, Footprint books surf travel series have just had one of their best volumes updated: Surfing Europe, by Chris Nelson and Demi Taylor, has been completley revised and redesigned for 2008. There's even more detailed surf info and maps, to help you find the perfect waaves on your travels, as well as stories from the road and gorgeous surf photography to inspire you to undertake your own surf adventure.

The authors are also bona fide surfers - currently living in Cornwall overlooking the sea, they were inspired to write the original edition when on a long road trip. Once home they jacked in their desk jobs (Chris as editor of UK boardsports mags Asylum and Freeride, and Demi as a communications manager for the world's largest surf brand) to travel Europe's finest surf spots, explore and record their adventure. They've also written Surfing Britain, Surfing the World and How to Be Surfer and contribute to surf mags and media across the world.
