While moi was "oohing!" and "aahing" over at the British Snowboard Big Air Champs there was a far more curious two planked monster revealing itself over the other side of Laax's Crap Sogn Gion summit with the Animal British Freeski Championships on Tuesday April 1.
No longer snowboarding's try-hard little brother, Freesking at the Brits has come into a level all of it's own with some immense spins and rail trickery from this year's champs.
Bad weather also delayed the start of the contest, with judges deciding to scrap a final and replace it with a two run knock out comp. After taking the gold in Halfpipe the day before, reigning Animal British Slopestyle Champion Emma Lonsdale was simply killing it, stomping a winning run of lipslide unnatural on the box, followed by a switch 180, 360 and 180 over the kickers.
Silver went to Teri Spencer with some stylish rail riding and strong 360 spins over the jumps. Also with solid 3s Becky Hammond came into third.
