Gutted the snowboard season is over? Well, after an epic snowfall throughout the Alps this winter, you can keep the dream alive by hitting one of Europe's many glaciers - as are the lovely Our Camp ladies.
Pro riders Sonia Shaw, Gilly Seagrave and Emma-Lea Rogers are decamping to Les 2 Alpes, France - the premier summer freestyle snowboard destination - putting on another week of girls only freestyle snowboard coaching, plus loads more fun shenanigans, from July 12 to 19.
You'll spend your mornings riding the glacier with like minded gals, learning new tricks in the park, pipe or on the rails, while also watching Europe's best pros throwdown on the many levels of the L2A park. Then afternoons can be spent by the swimming pool, mountain biking, joining yoga classes, trampolining, skating, playing tennis or generally chilling in the alpine summer sun.
The week costs from £599, which includes all your coaching for the week, lift pass, swimming pool access, a monster breakfast and dinner. Plus with Grenoble and Lyon airports nearby for budget airlines, flights should be super cheap too.
I did a girl's camp week in Les 2 Alpes when I was desperate to get in the park, (or just go off a kicker!) previous holidays with unsupportive lads had scared me off. However getting lessons from Sonia, Gilly, Emma-Lea and more, gave me the confidence to push myself and start landing on my feet - rather than arse or knees.
Six months later I was in the middle of my first season in Morzine, having the best time of my life, hitting jumps and rails I'd never dreamed of riding a year before... I wouldn't be there if I hadn't had the week in L2A.
If you're a lady looking for new friends to ride with, that extra boost to progress your riding or you just want someone to help you nail that 360, I can't recommend the camps enough. Get inolved.
