Self sufficient Camper Van = eco friendly surf trips!

Solar_powered_vw_camper_van

I stumbled across this awesome idea for a renewable energy run Camper Van while perusing the blog on www.nigelsecostore.com - create by Canadian industrial designer Alexandre Verdier.

His idea for the Volkswagen Westfalia Verdier came to him as an idea when he was travelling around Europe in a traditional VW camper in 1994. Updated for the eco age his version comes with solar panels, a GPS to calculate the optimal position for maximum sun exposure, an on-boar wi-fed computer, pneuamtic suspension, sliding doors, integrated folding staircase, and a swivel cooking range to cook inside or al fresco. It also has a hybrid engine.

Just imagine; being able to tour the coast on this looking for surf spots all summer, then taking it to the mountains to hunt for powder in the winter. I want one!

I have been seeing this VW on the net since 2005, still no model or knowledge at the dealer. Impossible for the common man to own one unless there is at least one model available locally! The Japs are the only ones it seems good at manufacturing and getting it to the common customer. Where in the heck is it in Las Vegas, NV?
