Nollie already said that this year's Relentless Wakestock is set to be an awesome weekend - at the rather royal location of Blenheim Palace, on June 27 - 29, and Abersoch July 2 - 6, the Vans Pool Gap has just confirmed it's return to the wakeboard festival as part of the Vans Rococo Rail tour. Plus loads more bands have been added to the expanding music bill!
The Vans Pool Gap is basically a top pool and a pully system that launches the riders forward towards on to two straight down rails and a gap rail, where they can show off their trick skills. It's a massive construction holding 200,000 gallons of water and is truly is a spectacular event to watch. There will also be a Wake Skate comp: imagine skateboarding on water, aka wakeboarding without bindings with just trainers - but taken to a whole new level.
The music line up is looking equally as tasty: Mark Ronson, The Streets, Groove Armada, Supergrass, Funeral For a Friend, Calvin Harris, Pete Tong, The Futureheads (my faves!), Young Kinves, Hadouken (another one I'll be watching) and Lightspeed Champion are already all confirmed. But now Black Kids, Mystery Jets, You Me At Six, Friendly Fires, The Dykeenies and Operator Please have been added to the bill.
Manicured palace gardens - without the mud; Europe's largest Wakeboard event - loving the water without a stomach full of sea water; and fun festival bands - minus the toilet queues: I can't guarantee the weather, but I do know that Wakestock has the potential to be the best weekend of the year.
