A hero both in surfing and eco circles, kiwi-born Billabong pro free surfer David Rastovich is a living legend - and Cooler magazine have an inspiring interview with him online. The founder of Surfers for Cetaceans, and also heavily involved with the work of Sea Shepherds, he hit headlines when he was involved with anti whale demonstrations in Japan - alongside Hayden Panettiere, star of TV's Heroes.
An advocate for organic, ecologically balanced lifetyles, 'Rasta' has always been a soul surfer; but his passion for the ocean grew even deeper when a dolphin saved him from a possible shark attack - a few days after he founded his whale and dolphin protection group.
