Music Club 6: The dø and Operator Please play Roxy Surf Jam

It's a double header this week on the Monday Music Club, as I introduce The dø and Operator Please - the two bands headlining the Roxy Jam music, art and surf festival on June - as featured on Nollie here.
First up it's folk pop duo The dø, who play Port Vieux beach, Biarritz on July 13 at 9.30 pm. Formed on 2005 after creating film music together, Franco French interpreter Olivia B.Merilahti and French jazz musician Dan Levy create grand melodies that are slightly eery, yet, like classic french chic, always gorgeous. Their first album A Mouthful is out now on Amazon, iTunes and more, but you can catch them on tour across Europe or watch the video for first single On My Shoulders below now.

Secondly, Operator Please are from Australia's Surfing mecca of the Gold Coast - home to current ASP World Champion Stephanie Gilmore no less, so are a perfect fit for the Roxy Jam. On stage on Friday July 11 at 8.30pm they're super infectious nu rave rockabilly will kick things off in kinetic style - kinda what you'd expect as the band haven't even left high school yet. Yep: it's time to feel old. The album Yes Yes Vindictive is out now, including the new single Two For My Seconds, which you can watch below:
