One must do this weekend is get involved with Go Skateboarding Day - a worldwide celebration of riding four wheels. With events across the globe there's bound to be something near you, from beginners (like moi) or the more experienced (like our Canadian friends the Skirtboarders or the ladies at last weekend's All Girl Skate Jam).
Here are our top five choice cuts to get you skating this weekend:
1) Skaters in Paris are holding a Go Skate Day session to raise awareness for Free Tibet. 12 limited edition artprint boards will be given away, in addition to wheels, shoes, decks, magazine subscriptions, stickers, DVDs, badges and free drinks... Check le-site-du-skateboard.com or email olivier@lesiteduskateboard.com for more info.
2) Vans UK are holding their own event at Projekts Skatepark and in Central Manchester, with demos, lessons and more from their team - or keep reading to see their flyer or go to Vans.co.uk for details.

Entry requirements are strict so head to ShredorDie.com to read up.
4) One of the biggest events will be the éS Game of SKATE; based on the game of HORSE - where one skater tries a trick, makes it and everyone else has to copy - tournaments are being held across the US. Full rules, details on enhry and schedules of local events are all online at gameofskate.com. If you fancy holding your own event check out this video:
5) The Extreme Sports Channel will be dedicating progamming to Go Skate Day all day on June 21 across Europe., including The Global Assualt, Concrete Carnage, a profile of legend Steve Cabellero, the Relentless No Half Measures Skate Session and much more.
