Roxy pro surf legend and Hawaii local Megan Abubo has been reflecting on the month she spent in Southern California this summer on Surfline - with friends no less than Kassia Meador, Lisa Anderson, pro snowboarder Chanelle Sladics, Claire Bevilacqua and Rochelle Ballard.
Included are some gorgeous pics of friends and more - surfing Swamis, Oceanside and Cardiff all in North County San Diego, which is actually where I was last week, practising my surfing on bigger-than-UK waves, being in awe of the super fit locals (people were running, cycling and swimming everywhere!), and filling up on some of the best vegetarian food I've ever tasted.
Home to Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys no less back, in the 60s, their good time pop hits had it right; beautiful, mellow, but with the convenience of being dotted by All-American towns, So Cal is a must stop destination for any surfer.
