Ever wondered if there is such a thing as skateboard heaven? Well Faltown Skateboards are more into the reincarnation idea - with the release of their reclaimed maple wood, recycled and hand sculpted 4.2 Freeride Eco-Carve skateboard.
When they found out another company had gone bust and were about to dump 4 tonnes of the hardwood, the Cornish based skateboard creators stepped in. They bought the wood then got in local skateboard guru Dom Lilly to brainstorm on what could be done with the redundant decks.
By moving around the trucks they created a board that was super stable and responsive to turn; prototypes were drawn up and the wood was then passed to Alternature - a bespoke timber furniture company in Redruth, Cornwall, who aim to produce with 'minimal environmental impact, with sustainability driving its process and ethics.' He helped shape the decks with traditional woodcraft and modern techniques to give each on the finest quality finish.
Painted up with a maple design to remind you of it's roots the 4.2 Freeride is great for scooting around, or practising those powder turns off-season or when the surf's flat. And now with Faltown's end of summer sale - you can buy your own for 50% off. Just get in quick while stocks last - and the sunny days of September are still with us...
