The second in Roxy's annual trio of women's longboarding events, following season opener the Roxy Jam Honolulu, the Roxy Jam Cardiff starts this Friday September 19 until Sunday September 21, for a full on festival of surfing, art, music, fashion and more - on the gorgeous sands of Cardiff, San Diego county, California.
Expect to see big name pros like former champion Jen Smith, Kassia Meador, current World Champ Joy Monohan and much more all competing in the Linda Benson Women's World Longboard Pro - a 6-star ASP longboard contest with a $15,000 prize purse. There will also be an extra $3000 up for grabs courtesy of Schick® Quattro for Women® who are sponsoring the Style Award. There will also be a Wave of the Day prize of $3000 courtesy of Hansen Surfboards - in addition to an all-ages amateur comp. On Sunday there will also be a stand-up paddle boarding relay race.
After a pre-party at Hansen Surfboards in Encinitas the contest will kick off at 7am on Friday, at Cardiff Reef. Art, food, music and other festivities will then take place on the beach on Saturday and Sunday as part of a beach fair - open from 9am to 5pm.
