Eva_hertz_rip_curl_artist_search_su

Picked from the potential of her MySpace page, Eva Hertz is an artist and musician based in the less than glamorous city of Wolverhampton in the UK who impressed Rip Curl Europe so much that they chose her to work on their seasonal 'Artist of the Search' collection - which is out now. One of three creative types working on the Autumn / Winter 08 products - Jon Burgerman and Jean Spezial worked on exclusive Men's snow outerwear lines - Rip Curl approached Eva back in July 1997, asking her to design five items (a Jacket, Padded Fleece, T-shirt with puffy sleeves, Trainers and Boots) with an Icelandic/Bjork-theme for a new eco-friendly range...

Inspired by English folklore, nature, fantasy and magic, she submitted her designs, helped work on prototypes - made from organic cotton and recycled materials - plus she created live art at a press conference in Annecy this summer.

Not all of her ideas were created, but the white patterned hoody above which did make it into the new Icelandic collection is on our wish list.

Here's pics from Annecy of those that didn't - taken from Eva's own blog:
