There was a huge buzz when Quik launched their stand alone women's collection - dubbed more Zara than TopShop - this time last year. Up market and quality, it was something that ladies in the shred industry (like moi) had been crying out for. A brand that reflected our outlook on life - inspired by action sports culture but also aware of bigger trends and designers - and wanted to look like a lady, not a pre-pubescent girl.
Launched with the successful creative hub of Site LA and it's ambassadors in the US, us Euro's were represented by a trio of singer-songwriters. Personally I found their music dull (but, as a Slayer fan, I'm not exactly their percieved market), but now beautiful Swiss snowboard mag intern Ela is on the roster.
Thank goodness that after all the marketing hype the clothes stand up: the new Spring / Summer collection is looking fierce but uber feminine, in muted shades with dashes of lemon and turqouise. Personally I'm lusting after all the dresses, tunics and manly-peacoat.
