first ever Women In Boardsports retreat, Saas Fee

saas_fee_women_boardsports_retreat.jpgDespite being increasingly valuable high spending consumers, women are still somewhat marginalised in the boardsports industry - both as athletes, industry insiders and participants - as men still dominate.

The very first Women In Boardsports retreat, organised by Les Ettes founder Carmela Fleury, is out to question this. From October 28 to November 29, such women will come together to share ideas, inspire action and offer support - with some snowboarding, spa treatments and networking added too.

The very first Women In Boardsports retreat, organised by Les Ettes founder Carmela Fleury, is out to question this. From October 28 to November 29, such women will come together to share ideas, inspire action and offer support - with some snowboarding, spa treatments and networking added too.

The 'most inspirational women in boardsports' from across Europe will meet in Saas Fee, Switzerland - to attend forums, seminars and yoga classes; snowboard; and soak up some indulgent spa treatments. Panel discussions featuring industry leaders from the media, events and brand marketing, plus professional athletes, will discuss the future of the female of the species in sideways sports.

Names confirmed so far include Donna Carpenter and Birgit Gruebler from Burton Snowboards, professional snowboarders Nicola Thost and Anne-Flore Marxer, photographer Vanessa Andrieux and more. Topics so far include media representation, maintaining work-life-balance, ways to work together and much more - in addition time to build new contacts with like minded ladies.

A one of a kind, debut for this type of event, it's open to all women who want to attend - wether working in the industry or not. With some passionate characters in attendance expect discussions to get heated - and for some big issues to raised.
