Final fortnight: Roxy Heart by Zakee Shariff pop-up shop at Bluebird
For autumn /winter, the high end Roxy Heart line has enlisted illustrator / designer Zakee Sharif to collaborate on the collection - which is now instore at a special pop up shop in London's Bluebird. But check it out quick: this is the shop's final week....
Created to be a more high-end, covetable version of Roxy's main line, Heart 'represents evolution of who Roxy are as a lifestyle brand built from a deep rooted heritage in surf and snow culture' and is available exclusively in boutiques and concept stores throughout Europe.
For her latest collection, Zakee used her 'street but chic' style to draw on the four elements - air, water, fire and earth - as well as music, as inspiration for her art. In particular, the song 'Fly Like An Eagle' by The Steve Miller Band.
"Ultimately the song evokes an essence of what I feel represents myself and how I feel the world needs to change," she explains. "The collection talks about my love of nature, and of doing right in the world. I like the feeling of freedom that it gives me which together with helping the world is an on going theme of mine... and that is what I have tried to bring to the prints and garments."
Zakee also designed a limited edition snowboard with Roxy, created by Lib Technologies, which is going to be given away in a special competition by Bluebird - online very soon.
