Perma progressive New York label Hellz Bellz have released their latest collection for Fall - Midnight Riders - with stunning photographs by Brooke Niper.
Founded by Lanie & Bam in the dark side of New York, in 2005, the label aims to "reintroduce strength, individuality, and sexual empowerment with a sassy, balls to the walls approach," to "reflect the a woman deeper than the feminine stereotype". Girls after my own heart.
With their own approach but seemingly accidentally always on trend, Bellz new line follows the 'glunge' (god I hate that word) look that's become synonymous this season. But with a rock 'n' roll 80s edge ala Mad Max - 'to represent the ideology of the subversive in not only fact and fiction, but fashion as well,' apparently.
To 'compliment the progressive and functional silhouettes' (I love fashion writing) they're using a dark palette of black, greys and blood reds, but keeping things easy and wearable. Look out for the Krueger pullover jacket, with hidden hood, and the slouch fit, cotton-canvas Hammer (yes!) pants in particular.
They've called it 'a true display of strength, sensuality and independence' but I prefer a subversive collection of threads that won't look out of place chilling post your next snow or skate session, or bar crawling in Shoreditch via bike, while listening to Fever Ray.
