If you've missed Le Tigre, but like your fem-pop a little bit more 'ooh-la-la', prepare to fall for Koko Von Nappo.
A three-quarters female Parisian quartet, the band are Toupie, Renarde, Kokoboy and Kiddo and have released a few singles on Trouble Records in the UK - which has charmed the UK's taste makers, including Dazed & Confused and the NME, leading them to take temporary resident in the capital.
With gigs lined up across London over the next month, their bleepy euro pop harks back to the 80s - with layers of squelchy synths and watered down riot-girl vocals, but with a cute 60s Charlotte Gainsbourg faux naive feminity. Far too subtle and classy to be cheesy, they sound a little like Robots In Disguise, but chilled out on red wine, watching the world go by outside a street corner cafe.
On their debut EP June they've added some Blade Runner esque space synths too, like on Baden Baden and the uber pretty Polly, for some extra nostalgia. They've just the right amount of euro pop to guarantee them a few upcoming video appearances soon - and they're currently playing shows all across the UK.
