The UK's biggest snowsports and music festival is back for 2009, as Freeze returns to London's Battersea Power Station from today until Sunday November 1. In it's second year, the 2009 event once more hosts a stop of the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup, and International Freeski competition, as well as the snowboard-only Battle Of Britain today. Each evening then continues with a massive music line up, in addition to the apres bars, parties and retail village set up to give Battersea it's own mini ski resort - kicking off the evening with the TUACA Off-Piste DJ battle at the Canadian alcohol brand's own bar, as three snowboarder-cum-turntablists tussle it out for the best tunes.
Olympic hopeful Dom Harington, old school snowboarder turned drum and bass DJ Scott Nixon, plus TV presenter / Kerrang rock DJ Christian Stevenson will be hitting the decks at xxxxx for 20 minutes each. The crowd will then pick the winner, who'll nab their own TUACA Traveller survival kit, packed with the vanilla and citrus flavoured liquer.

After the contest, and having been warmed up with some apres, there's two music stages to choose from - the Main Stage Tent and the new Relentless Energy Pyramid Stage. Tonight Orbital headline the main stage, preceded by a Pendulum DJ set, Example, Fenech Soler and David E Sugar, while on the Relentless stage The King Blues headline, after Master Shortie, Sound Of Guns and more. Tomorrow, Saturday, Eagles Of Death Metal headline, following a Calvin Harris DJ set, Kitty Daisy and Lewis, Sweethead, and Black Box Revelation, with Audio Bullys DJing on the other stage, after Kissy Sell Out James Yuill, Cosmo Jarvis and Jon Kennedy DJ. Sunday wraps up with Friendly Fires on the mainstage, Chase and Status, Dan Black, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Soft Toy Emergency, with Secret Sundaze, Ashley Beedle, and more on the alternative.

With world class international riders like Martin Cernik, Marko Grilc, Iouri Podladtchikov, Stefan Gimpl and Peetu Piiroinen all competing on Saturday too, it's set to be a pretty impressive weekend - unlike anything else in the UK. Just start praying for sun... and no rain after last year's wash out.

Tickets are £85 for a weekend ticket in advance (more expensive on the day), then £35 for day tickets or £65 VIP bought in advance online - expect to pay more on the door though.
