It's show time again folks: the pre snow season excitement is building pretty rapidly, especially with one of the best early seasons for 40 years for many records. And London's Metro Ski & Snowboard Show returns to Olympia once more to whet your appetite for winter, from October 21 to 25.
As ever there'll also be some super impressive live demos from pro skiers and snowboarders. Check out the the all-new Trespass Big Air contest on a especially built 50 foot kicker, including British Olympic hopeful Ben Kilner, who's training hard for the Vancouver 2010 event. X Games gold medallist Jenny Jones will also be there, to give out advice throughout the show, as well as answer questions at a special screening of brand new all-women snowboard film Stance on Saturday night, hosted by Oakley eyewear, at the Fashion Show area at 6pm.
The UK's up and coming riders will also get the chance to show off, as the British Snow Tour Championships is back, with twelve top talents already confirmed including snowboarders Sam Cullum, James Webb, Sparrow Knox and Jack Shackleton battling it out.
If you're all about the apres, the mountain's biggest party - Snowbombing - will be hosting a Street Party this Friday, October 23 at the Zilelrtal Apres Ski Bar. Get tipsy on Jaeger and amped for the weekend with DJ's TBX and Loose Cannons.
The Gigloo will also be transformed by Okuru into a tasty music venue with DJ's from XFM and Altitude fest.
More a no-friends-on-a-powder-day-type? Then Board Riders Heaven should be your first port of call. All week mountain experts will be hosting talks, showing films and offering advice in the Off-Piste Adventure Theatre. The latest 09/10 kit will be on hand to tempt you with the latest technology (or simply designs), plus professionals will be there to help you find your perfect set up.
There'll also be fashion shows, demos, and post-show socials daily.
The show kicked off today, and continues tomorrow, Thursday 22, from 11am to 9.30pm, Friday from 11am - 10pm, and Saturday 10am - 6pm. Tickets are £9 for adults in advance, or £12 on the door, on weekdays, and £13 in advance and £16 on the door at the weekend.
