Way, way back in February I told you about a brand new and super young snowboard crew, putting together their first all-women film, Peep Show. Now, finally, the film that, in my eyes, is the most exciting this season, is being premiered worldwide and has a second teaser doing the rounds.
With a crew of young up and comers from the US and Canada - like Jess Kimura, June Bhongjan and Marie Hucal - plus film favourites Desiree Melancon, Leanne Pelosi, Bev Vuilleumier, and Magalie Dubois, Peep Show is a raw project created with real passion for snowboarding."Peep Show is different from other film crews in that it is purely driven by snowboarding and creativity, not sponsor dollars," their mission statement says. "We made the rider roster based on skill and style rather than whose sponsors would throw in the most money. It's straight from the heart and self-funded."
Completely DIY with it's lo-fi approach, this is what the next generation of post-feminist snowboard films should emulate: grassroots, fun, inspiring and pure punk rock in spirit.
