I was going to post a wrap up on the Winter Dew Tour results from the Breckenridge stop last night, fresh from twitter (thanks to @leannepelosi, @fueltv, @ChanelleSladics, and @susiefloros), but thought some details would be much meatier.
The facts you probably know: Jamie Anderson won the Slopestyle, followed by super positive Czech star Sarka Pancochova, and Britain's own Jenny Jones.
Conditions seemed difficult, as only Jamie landed a run - a record breaking first with a super smooth backside 180, switch backside 540 and front 360 on the triple jump set - which landed her 92.00 points, the highest score ever awarded a female Dew contestant. Her second would have been even better, but after back to back 540s, she slipped on a 720 attempt on the final jump to miss out.
One of the most fearless riders competing today, Sarka P came send despite falling in both runs - her skill shining through, with a huge backside 540, slow and smooth switch backside 180, then a smooth 720 to sketchy landing, on her first run. With presses and boardslides through the finale technical rail section her style was enough to impress despite her stacks - plus her off-hill charmingly positive attitude.
X Games gold medallist Jenny came third - but also fell on both runs on the icy course, and, despite scoring in the upper 60s, but was apparently disappointed.
Out of the other contestants Spencer O'Brien missed out on showing off her signature frontside 540 - but spun off her toes (one of the most impressive tricks in female snowboarding), after she fell on both runs to come in fourth. The first jump also proved difficult for 5th and 6th place winners Janna Meyen and kiwi Shelly Gotlieb, who also both stacked.
