Alien Workshop x Andy Warhol Limited Edition skate decks

After Burton's Andy Warhol outerwear collection in 07/08, the snowboard giant has released a limited edition series of decks with Alien Workshop featuring the pop art legend's work - making use of those pricey artists rights and the skate company they bought in February 2008.
Once more working closely with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, each of the initial collaboration decks features ten 'iconoclast' pro riders sponsored by Alien Workshop.

"We are delighted to see Andy Warhol's non-conformist spirit embraced by the talented and creative team at Alien Workshop. These pro decks are a testament to the profound influence Warhol continues to have on our culture," said Michael Hermann, Director of Licensing at The Andy Warhol Foundation in a press release.

Five of the decks feature examples from Warhol's Death & Disaster series of works, while the others include pieces from his much-imitated Pop screenprints. That's not all: each skate deck comes with it's own custom printed board box packaging, also inspired by the New York art legend's 60s sculptures - and a collector deckwrap.

All ten Alien Workshop x Andy Warhol decks will be available in selected core skate shops soon - and with the expected hefty price tag, will probably get more familiar with picture rails than anything al fresco.
