The second in the Handmade Heroines series on Nollie (or should that be Thrifty Thursdays?) is the work of Edinburgh based writer, academic, knitter and designer Kate Davies. Based in Edinburgh, Kate produces vintage style woolen works inspired by her day job, which are then tested for their winter warming by hiking and camping the snowy peaks near her home.
As well as selling patterns for hats, dresses, scarves and more on her blog Needled, she kindly posted this super cute owl jumper pattern online in January 2009. And, with one of my new year resolutions being to learn to knit, it's an ideal - if challenging - debut project, perfect for pulling on post a surf or snow session.
