Ok, so their third album Crossing The Rubicon came out last summer, but with a couple of live dates lined up and back in the studio, it's time to show love to The Sounds.

One of the most popular bands ever to feature on snow movies, Absinthe Films are huge fans and regular pick them to soundtrack sections, as did Mack Dawg (RIP), the swedish quintet also just played a storming set at the Burton European Open
A blend of 80s-esque synthesiser pop and vintage new wave, the Helsingborg born band are oft compared to Blondie, The Cars, The Epoxies and Missing Persons and fronted by the ridiculously feisty and ambitious glamazon Maja Ivarsson: "I want to be the best female vocalist around...of at least this century" she's said.

Completed by Jesper Anderberg (Synthesizers/Piano/Guitar), Felix Rodriguez (guitars), Johan Bengtsson (bass) and Fredrik Nilsson (drums), The Sounds are currently in the studio working on their fourth album - out later this year, perfectly timed for next winter's movies.

Can't wait? Then head to the-sounds.com, scroll down to the bottom left corner and submit your email: when you confirm joining their mailing list you'll be sent a link to download their single No One Sleeps When I'm Awake - free!
