post Vancouver: Torah Bright on her Olympic gold

You're probably hyper aware that Roxy's perma-happy, super talented Aussie snowboarder Torah Bright won gold in the Women's Halfpipe at the Vancouver Winter Olympics last week. However, not all of us were able to catch it live. And while Shaun White and the Men's pipe contest is all over TV, the women's, although no less exciting, is less so...

But don't fret: after some careful hunting I've managed to track down a tonne of interviews with the Roxy star - unsurprisingly, most from Australia.

Thankfully the BBC have posted the highlights online - including Torah's winning run, after her stack on the first which she recovered miraculously from. And also, why Shaun was on everything from Oprah to TWSnow, interviews with Torah post her win are a bit thin on the ground. (If she was an American we can bet that would be a different story...)

World Sport caught up with her before the Olympics kicked off:

ABC Australia have gone old school, and posted an MP3 of an interview with Torah online - which, although conducted by a non snowboarder old-school type, is actually pretty good.

MSN have been on it as well, posting a nationally broadcast interview on A Current Affair which is pretty funny.

After a conversation with Aussie prime minister, Kevin Rudd, after she found out she'd won gold, Bright's also been confirmed to appear on a postage stamp down under this year. And, the live broadcast of her gold medal awards ceremony has caused a media uproar in Aus - and a blazing row between the two biggest broadcasters, Channel 9 and Foxtel.

And CNN's roving community reporter Chris Morrow filmed her own DIY interview with Torah too...

  • Torah is awesome! Besides, she is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "For me it's just a way of life – I don't drink, smoke, drink tea or coffee, or have sex before marriage. I've never drunk or smoked but I'll go out to dance and stay up late and then drive home at the end of the night.

  • I saw her run at the Olympics and she was pretty awesome! Thanks also for posting the clips! She did an awesome job!
