What do supermodel Helena Christiansen, surfers Carissa Moore and Monyca Byrne-Wickey, plus snowboarder Ellery Hollingsworth have in common? They all star in Nike 6.0's first women's apparel catalogue - for autumn winter 2010.

For the last few years, there's been a serious repositioning of Nike in surf, skate and snow: after their technical, but credibility-lacking, ACG brand refocused on outdoor sports, their approach to action sports has been low-key, careful and credible: Nike SB won over the most sceptical of critics building a core following in skate; Nike Snowboarding has some of the most progressive riders on the planet (Laura Hadar and Annie Boulanger for women; Gigi Ruff, Danny Kass, Nico Mueller and Justin Bennee for men).

Then Nike 6.0, after nurturing some of the most exciting male groms - snapped up super talent Carissa Moore for an undisclosed (but reportedly huge) sum last year (read more on that here). So after all that hype, careful planning, and consultation they've finally delivered: Nike 6.0's first womens line is in store this autumn - created with their three head-to-toe athletes freesurfer Monyca Byrne-Wickey, snowboarder Ellery Hollingsworth and Moore herself. All had a huge impact on the creation of the collection - demanding wearable, practical and stylish pieces that matched the lifestyles associated with their sports.

Bloggers in the US were given the chance to visit Nike HQ in Portalnd, to check out the new collection - plus the stunning catalogue, which Christiansen was invited to shoot, giving it a laidback but naturally stunning feel.
