Ok, so she may look like the latest petite, blonde female balladeer off the music industry's production line, but there is far, far more to Lissie than misconstrued first impressions.
This Rock Island, Illionois born talent, has garnered a loyal following in Europe for very valid reasons: saturated with raw emotion, hers is a timeless sound that has evolved from timeless bluesy-guitar folk to embracing potential stadium filling pop rock.
Somewhere between pop, folk, rock and country, flavoured by whisky and cigarettes, Lissie's been described as 'Stevie Nicks taking Neko Case by the scruff of the neck': stunningly beautiful songs, but with a heart-broken melancholy at their core, haunting and addictive.
From the raw acoustic guitar melodies of her debut EP Why You Runnin' (out now), her new debut album Catching A Tiger (released June 21) sees Lissie push to a grander scale - soaked with potential stadium filling hook packed choruses.
