Rip Curl Europe Girls' surf tour: now on!

Fancy learning to surf and DJ? Then Rip Curl have answered your multi talented prayers with their Girls Tour 2010, with Hawaiian Tropic, rolling across Europe's best surf spots.

And new team rider, Tahitian based stylish longboarder Hanalei Reponty, will be there coaching alongside local surf instructors, plus DJ Elisa Do Brasil, who'll pass her knowledge of the decks on each evening, apres surf....

From their humble beginnings in 1969 as a project between two surfers on 'The Search,' Rip Curl is now one of the largest surf and board sports brands on the globe: The Rip Curl Girls Tour is their largest female-focused event in Europe, which, in 2009, even saw team rider and multiple ASP World Champion title holder Stephanie 'Happy' Gilmore venture to the (sadly flat) waves of Brighton.

The tour's kicked off already, with sunny chilled sessions in La Ciotat, France, but the next stops are back in Blighty: first at surf capital, Newquay's Fistral Beach, on July 10 and 11, lessons are with the famed English Surfing Federation (email rob@orcasurf.co.uk

to register or for info); then on to the south coast's mellower swell at Boscombe Beach, Bournemouth July 13 and 14 (email shaun@sortedsurfshop.co.uk to register).

At each stop, longboarder and new Rip Curl 'icon' Hanalei Reponty will be on hand alongside the best local coaches, to offer tips, advice and more for all wannabe surfers - if you're female and aged 15 or over (sorry guys!).

New for 2010, a team of female DJs are also joining the tour - holding workshops on how to master mixing. Then for the first night of each stop, France's DJ Elisa Do Brasil will be bringing her 'Sunset Sessions' to the beach - a melting pot of breaks, beats and latin rythmns to wind down apres surf - which is open for all.

And - best of all - the whole event is free: so you've no excuses to not convince your mum, sister, or that nervous friend, to join in and learn to surf - getting more women in the water.
