6) Tek One
Ok, so you've probably heard these lads already, but if not - you're in for a treat. Astounding live dub step loved by both the rock and dance press, Tek One will shake your spine, rattle your eardrums and make your eyes vibrate - then you'll beg for more.
From the sleep suburbs of Maize Hill, Oxford to grimy clubs across the country check out this live drums & DJ duo now - before the go Chase & Status stellar.

Bizarre, eccentric and unashamedly vintage, Edward Sharpe are like Jefferson Airplane resurrected to support Arcade Fire. Hook filled, reverbing as if recorded in a Baptist Church, with barber shop choirs added to crowd claps, man/girl vocals, pianos, brass, beaten up guitars.
Check out Home for some Woodstock-era-esque singalong folkrock pop. Then parts 1 and 2 of their SALVO, film series for full out weirdness. Refreshing and rad.

Warmly wistful, chilled out electronica from Sweden's newest indie darlings. An almost perfect uplifting backdrop, the trio make Scandi-style clean dance with a subtle baleric sheen. Ibiza tunes it's ok to dance to.

Sisters Johanna and Klara describe themselves as "What Gary Numan would sound like if he made folk music" which, although ambitious, is a fitting description.
First Aid Kit are another spawn of Sweden, influenced by Joanna Newsom and Fleet Foxes - who the pair covered with a YouTube video which went viral, leading to their first home-recorded single, and a record deal with Wichita.

10) Yuck

Via Camden, New Jersey and Hiroshima, Yuck say their a punk band - but more along the lines of early Sub Pop grunge pioneers Sonic Youth, soaked in introspective green soaked wonder.
Pure and passionate, don't believe the name: Yuck are something beautiful indeed.

Watch out for more new bands in Top 10 Bands You Don't Know Yet (part 2) - in association with BlackBerry ® Torch™ available in the UK in November.
