After the viral success of their first Short Stories film Dark Side of the Lens by Mickey Smith, Relentless Energy have released the third film in the four part series - Permanent Vocation, all about star X Games triple gold medallist Jenny Jones...
Created by talented Finnish Filmmaker Johannes Östergård, the five minute movie is an intimate and pure look at what drives a teen from Bristol, in the very un-snowy South West of England, to dedicate her life to a sport. How this unassuming, down to earth woman is now, not only is the most successful from her country, but one of the best in the world.
Permanent Vocation is also the third in a four part film making competition from Relentless Energy - following Mickey Smith's audio visual poem to the irish sea, and Matty Lambert's portrait of BMX park king Mark Webb in Transatlantiscm.
Smith's first film has already won the New York Surf Film Festival and is now nominated for best short at The Surfer Poll awards no less - and now Östergård's snow film has been making similarly euphoric waves.
A unique project presenting the other side to our sports (showcasing the visual artists behind the lens who create images that ignite our excitement for riding), Short Stories is set to get even bigger for 2011 inviting more young film makers to explore music, art and much more.
