Gloves are multi functional items of snowboarding kit. Firstly they protect your pinkies from the elements, avoiding misfortunate cases of frostbite. Second, if conversation slows as you schralp the slopes, they can kick start some sartorially inspired convo, or maybe a chuckle.
British born Transform Gloves matches both briefs with aplomb...
The idea of rider/renaissance man Tom Kingsnorth (pretty talented on a shredstick, he's also editor of Tackyworld.co.uk), Transform Gloves has been live for a few seasons, but the latest 2010/2011 collection is his biggest and best yet.
All Transform Gloves are available in unisex styles, sizes small to XL, check out this season's wares below:
The PhotoIncentive, is a turquoise cold weather glove for wanna be pros, made from full leather with a reinforced palm, silicon sticky grip palm, and oversized nose wipe on the thumb for the inevitable high altitude snot flows.
A low profile spring glove, The Figurines has stretch fingers, and the full silicone sticky grip palm too.
Inspired by East London's mini India, The Brick Lane is built for baltic temperatures. Able to banish the cold, yet still low profile, it boasts a toasty faux fur lining, silione sticky grip pal and the essential damp hooter dabbing oversized nose wipe thumb.
Another glove modelled on inner city icons, The Landmark europe's biggest buildings on the top - with the London underground on the palm. In a regal Royal Blue, it's a medium weather glove, low profile, stretch fingers and quick dry neoprene construction.
Transform's only mitt, The K.O. tells sub zero temperatures where to stick it, in an apt blood red, that once again stays low profile, but with full silicone sticky grip palm and nose wipe.
