Last month I was in stunning Reykjavik, Iceland - during the second Reykjavik Fashion Festival kicked off. An incredible event, much more than another Fashion Week, RFF brings together the fertile cross-pollinating cultural threads of this mid-Atlantic city into three nights of art, music, design, experimentation and parties... Both on Friday and Saturday night, the city's tastemakers and creatives gathered in the stunning Art Museum to watch multi label shows from Iceland's most exciting young designers - including Rey, Forynja, Hildur Yeoman, E-Label, Shadow Creatures, Kron by KronKron, and the much loved Nikita - who's co-founder Runar Ómarsson helped organise the festival and the amazing apartment I was very lucky to stay in (more on that soon!).

My first fashion shows, the sharp cheekboned, uber stylish locals were intimidating at first, but with the Reykjavik scene far smaller and chilled than London this didn't last.

Instead it was an inspiring experience, with each label, no matter budget or stark set limitations, matching designs perfectly to music - which, not surprising for a nation that experiences 24 hour darkness midwinter, had a gothic edge to much of the mood.

Post show was brilliant too: local electro buzz band Legend opening the first night, through to local DJs and random headliner Sin Fang and Ghostface Killah on the Saturday closing party.

An epic weekend, look out for more on the brands present on Nollie soon - but for now check out these brilliant videos from Berlin Fashion TV and DazedDigital

Reykjavik: we'll return soon.
