Sisters Piper and Skylar Kaplan are Puro Instinct: a lush dream pop duo out of LA. Self described as Nu-Ro, think glitter, pearls, gorgeous harmonies, twinkling guitar riffs, waves of synths and spaced out girliness.
Formerly known as Pearl Harbour, the duo reinvented themselves this year as a two piece to create debut album Headbangers in Ecstasy - released in Europe last month via Recordmakers. Fellow Los Angeles loc and freak-folkie Ariel Pink also helped on production, and features on stand out track Stilyagi - Russian for a post war, Soviet Union youth subculture called 'style hunters.' Pretentious perhaps, but on point for this vintage clad, uber feminine pair.
