But the petite, tattooed Toronto local is fast becoming a global cult figure - after lending gorgeous, tear jerking vocals to Bring Me The Horizon's album There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It.
With underground credibility, her fantasy tattoos, tomboy style and video blogging, it's not surprising that Lights is also a huge icon for the Twumblr generation too.
Her second album Siberia is out now, her adorable soft croon layering heartfelt lyrics over soaring electro pop, and she's just announced a UK tour for February 2012.
