After a month of anticipation, Eden: The Story of Element Eden - an inspirational short film on the story behind the Element Skateboards sister brand - has launched online, starring advocates like Adaptive Action Sports founder Amy Purdy, artists Brooke Reidt and Miya Ando, photographer Crista Leonard - and more...
The embryonic idea for Element Eden sprung from the childhood of Element Skateboards founder Johnny Schillereff - who learnt to skate on sister Jackie's board and who forever encouraged him.
As skating became more macho, Johnny continued to sponsor female skaters - always thankful to his sister. But the siblings wanted to do more: via Jackie, Element Eden was born, making beautiful, earth conscious clothes for creative, independent women.
Eden talks about how Element evolved from those early days - from progression in design to the formation of the Advocate programme: a collective of 'fearless females' who inspire and empower other women to create, overcome challenges and 'live, learn, grow.'
One such Eden Advocate, animator and artist Amber B Dianda, co-directs the short film - with her quirky, homespun work sprinkled throughout. And a series of follow up 'Behind The Seams' videos - interviews with the advocates and more from December 8.
