Winter is not just peak snowboard season: for brave surfer souls, the icy cold waves of the northern hemisphere are also ripe with clean, glassy and big surf - like Roxy's Catherine Bruhwiler and Hanna Scott, two of Canada's top female surfers. (In fact, Catherine was actually one of the first Canadian female surfers to be sponsored.)

In October this year, the pair headed to a remote part of Canada's west coast - which looks like Catherine's local spot of Tofino on Vancouver Island, British Columbia - to don thick wetsuits, surf early winter waves and film this gorgeous video by Adam DeWolfe. 

Under the harsh winter light and challenging temperatures, in this stunning surf video, Adam has created something beautifully cinematic to celebrate salt water at it's harshest - especially loving the maple leaf thread throughout.
