Amy Purdy is the most inspiring person in snowboarding (plus skateboarding, wakeboarding, acting and more). She moved to the mountains for her first winter, to work as a masseuse, snowboarding whenever she could. Then tragedy struck as Amy contracted meningitis, and doctor's were forced to amputate her legs below the knee - at just 19 years old.
But Amy overcame this both huge emotional and physical challenge - to continue competing and embrace this life she almost lost. Strong and focused, she set up the Adaptive Action Sports foundation and become a 'carpe diem' inspiration to the world.
You may have seen Amy in Element Skateboard's new short film Eden: The Story of Element Eden earlier this week - or read one of her countless inspiring interviews.
Now hear Amy speak in her words in this TED video from an event earlier this year - and be motivated to live beyond limits too...
