Daily video: Spencer O'Brien wins O'Neill Evolution 2012 Women's Slopestyle in Davos, Switzerland

It's been powder heaven in Davos, Switzerland for the last week, with endless laps of fresh - making the early season party that is the O'Neill Evolution contest wrap a huge success at the weekend. Especially for Nike 6.0 and Dragon shredder Spencer O'Brien: the Canadian took first place and $20,000 prize money!

The O'Neill Evolution is the first TTR World Snowboard Tour contest of the season - which, after Europe's resorts remained brown until December - warmly welcomed the colosal dump of snow, even if fresh makes not ideal contest conditions.

The women's event saw the best weather of the week, with eight finalists landing solid runs. But Spencer took the O'Neill Evolution title by going big and clean - despite the soft, slow conditions - with her first run, a frontside 720 nosebone and gap to lipslide on the monster rail, impressing the judges enough to win her the title and a place in the World Championships. Switzerland's former female BEO champion, Sina Candrian was also riding hard but failed to land her final run, so took 2nd, with Austria's Anna Gasse securing third.

Snowboarding in seeing some incredible progression right now - in both women's and men's - with the arsenal of tricks landed in contests exploding continuously. 2012 has already started as a groundbreaker: watch these highlights of the O'Neill Evolution to see how it all begins...
