Fair trade Eka Wear pre Christmas sale & postage offer

eka_wear_christmas_postage_free_sale_fair_trade_accessories.jpg

Fair trade, '20s influenced accessories brand Eka, are having a sale - plus they're offering free postage worldwide on any orders take before December 24, with a special code.

The brain child of pro snowboarder / vintage lover Gilly Seagrave, Eka started as both a creative outlet (Gilly used to crochet everything herself by hand) and a way for her to earn extra cash while doing seasons. But, with her retro angle on headwear, the brand took off - expanding  to all-season wear five years ago and is now made in the Indian eco village of Auroville.

VIDEO: behind the scenes of Billabong's Art Department

danielle_petach_billabong_art_director.jpg

Over the last few seasons Billabong have really created a gorgeous and unique creative identity behind their women's wear marketing. From the Design For Humanity posters through to their newly redesigned website, and their upcoming Spring 2010, the paint splattered artistic feel came from the creative spring of one woman - Art Director for Womenswear Danielle Petach (who's also an artist in her own right).

And so, to celebrate her unqiue ideas, Billabong Girls have posted a trio of videos of her at work, explaining exactly how she comes up with her ideas, her inspiration and how you could follow a similar career path.

Watch all the videos on Nollie after the jump...

In the second part of Nollie's focus on Anon's current product range, The Majestic goggle takes the crown. With a slimmer, low profile fit for smaller faces, these female-focused eyeball protectors come in a super tasty spectrum of colours, prints & finishes - perfect for clashing / co-ordinating with the rest of your carefully picked snowboard ensemble. Which, admit it, I bet you've been rocking around the house already.

Out now: Eco surf/skate/snow label Sutsu's winter collection

sutsu_surf_snow_skate_organic_winter_collection_wear.jpg

Ok, so technically they're yet to release a dedicated-women's line, but the new season 2009 collection from eco-friendly surf, skate, snow label Sutsu is far too striking to leave to just the lads. In shops now, Sutsu's simple T-Shirts, Hoodys and South American influenced beanies are the perfect layers to wrap up in this winter (slightly) guilt free: the Tees are made from combed Organic, in carbon-neutral factories which are accredited by the Soil Association.

Keep reading to see more pictures and for details...

Out now: Anon women's goggles 2009/2010 - The Solace

Anon_Solace_snowboard_goggles_winter_2009_2010.jpg
Have you ever tried snowboarding with no goggles on? Trust me; it ain't fun! Especially in a blizzard. Forget your goggles on a day on the hill when it's snowing, and you could be in for a world of pain - like hail being jet-cannoned in to your eye sockets.

Thankfully, Anon optics have another consistently tasty collection of goggles for 2009/2010 - so you can protect your peepers, and nab some points in the style stakes. Created especially for women, The Solace is one of the current, classy collections this season.

Keep reading for details on finishes and tech, in part one of a two part focus on Anon's efforts after the jump...

Brandon Boyd & Kristin Jai Klosterman create Collaborative Canvas TOMS shoes

Brandon_Boyd_Kristin_Jai_Klosterman_Collaborative_Canvas_collection_TOMS_shoes.jpg

Ok I'm utterly biased, but could Brandon Boyd be any more perfect? Not only the soulful frontman of Incubus, he's also an exhibited artist, published author, social activist and accomplised surfer. His latest project is the Collaborative Canvas Collection for TOMS shoes, with fellow Los Angeles creative Kristin Jai Klosterman, which wrapped last month

After painting on canvases taped to the floor for four days, the pairs work was then shipped to Venice beach, cut into strips to make the material for the shoes, then shaped, moulded and glues to create the fabric for these one of a kind, footwear. Inspirational and conscious, also, for each shoe you buy, TOMS give another away to disadvantaged children worldwide.

This latest very limited edition TOMS Shoes collection was then launched at Undefeated, in Silverlake, California, on September 25, where early bird purchasers could snap up some unique Boyd and Klosterman created art to clothe their feet - or not.

Keep reading to see a selection of videos behind the scenes of the event plus interviews with Brandon and Kristin... although sadly, right now, they're only available in selected shops Los Angeles. Boo!
