Artist In Situ: Hannah Stouffer - skate & snow illustrator

hannah_stouffer_artist_illustrator_nike_vans_gnu_element_surf_snow_skate_los_angeles.jpg

I came across Los Angeles artist Hannah Stouffer's work a month or so ago via a random blog link and loved her dark, yet colourful and intricate illustrations. So does most of the So Cal action sports industry, as she's recently done work for Nike Snowboarding (5), Nike 6.0, Element Skateboards (4), Gnu Snowboards (1), Arts Projekts (3) and now her own signature Vans (2) high top shoe.

Thrifty Thursday: Random Acts Of Kindness Week!

thrifty_thursday_undercover_kindness_week_free_cards_give_away.jpg

Heidi Burton is one such illustrator: the Brit has created free business-size cards especially for the week - which you can download for free then distribute to share your own random love.

Strangely London feels colder than the mountains right now, (grey clouds and pollution equalling a lack of sun I reckon) so I've been under several layers, gloves, hats and scarves for months. But my cheapy gloves are knackered, and nothing matches. The solution? Make my own all-in-one thanks to this genius scarf-hat thanks to Craft's free pattern podcasts.

Handmade Heroines: stunning stationery from Bread Of Many

bread_of_many_etsy_handmade_heroines_shop_stationery_craft.jpg

After failing abysmally last year, for 2010 I'm determined to stick with one new year's resolution: to send more letters. Emails get deleted, hard drives crash, computers burn out, but a carefully collected shoe box of letters and memories can keep forever - especially when received from friends met across the globe.

But, unlike easily editable electronic typing, the fear of permenance always gives me writer's block when putting pen to paper - the incredibly cute gift card and note sets from Bread Of Many should help inspire anyone.
