A festival celebrating the collaboration of art, music, film, photography and surfing, The Happening will tour the world in 2008: bringing live performances, exhibitions and screenings together to raise money and awareness for non-proft organisations - including the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Bethany Hamilton Makes A Wish!

Writer, surfer and shark attack survivor, Bethany Hamilton may have only just turned 18, but she's already achieved more than most people three times her age.

The Rip Curl international team member has just had one of her most successful competitive seasons ever - finishing third in the Women's World Qualifying Series (WQS), and on her 18th birthday, she announced that she was joining the team for enviornmentally savvy footwear company Ocean Minded Inc.

Possibly my favourite season, spring may be just around the corner, but before you grab your wetsuit, wax your mini-mal and eye up that new bikini - your local spot probably needs some love since you were last there. Because according to Surfers Against Sewage "winter storms, big waves and strong South Westerly winds have driven millions more pieces of marine litter onto our beaches."
