Tara Dakides Pro-Tec Signature Model Descent Helmet
This is possibly the most pimped out helmet I've seen yet, this new Tara Dakides model from Pro-Tec features audio ear pads, a venting system that promises you'll never get a sweaty head, built in RECCO reflectors, a goggle shelf to keep your goggles where they should be, and something all helmets should have - a washable liner. Smelly heads aren't cool. All that, and it'll save your heat in a bash, too. Sorted.
RRP: £70

2. Can you see out of them? If you can't, or you have obscured vision, don't buy them. Although there's one clever man who can snowboard blind, generally, being blind is no fun...

Head Liv and Cloe Snowboarding Helmets
This year, Head have added a little bit of the pretty to their technology-led women's helmet collection. The Liv features super-soft furry lining and a beanie fitted inside the hat to make it warm and comfortable, and clever thermal ventilation that keeps you warm but never lets you get hot. It also comes with vent plugs to stop the cold/snow/rain getting in when the weather gets a little stormy, and is all round good looking to boot. I'm impressed.
